Weather Update
Climate change is a major phenomenon that is significantly experienced across the territories of India. Many areas, which recently suffered through hot temperatures, are now receiving some much-needed rain in the form of monsoon showers. Many have found the prospect of rain a new positive experience, as most states have registered improved rainfall.
But the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has given several warnings because of the forecast of heavy rain in several states.
Uttarakhand is on red alert.
In the present context, a red alert has been sounded today, July 7, for the nine districts of Uttarakhand with heavy rainfall. The situation requires intervention now, as the six-o’clock forecast indicates poor weather conditions.
Hurricane-Force Orange Warnings in Multiple States
For Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh, the warning has been posted at the orange level. Until July 11, the areas mentioned can expect heavy rains with thunder and lightning. Travelers are advised that in Kerala, the monsoon arrives early and is expected to continue until July 9th with very intense precipitation.
Relief for Delhi
Delhi folks will be able to catch a little relief from this sultry weather. Today we will have occasional rains; in the next two days, July 8 and 7, it will be rather rainy.
Alerts for Other Regions
- South-West Uttar Pradesh and North-West Madhya Pradesh: There are still thunder rains for the next week up to July 9.
- Goa, Maharashtra, and Karnataka: A three-day weather forecast shows potential for medium to heavy rainfall.
- Andhra Pradesh: Some areas had extremely heavy amounts of rainfall on July 7.
- Telangana: We are forecasting that we are going to have heavy rains within the next two days.
- Southern Karnataka: Scattered thunderstorms with 2-3 inches of rain on July 6 and isolated rain on July 7.
