New Traffic Restrictions on the Delhi-Dehradun Highway

An important briefing took place on Thursday in Meerut, where the police of Uttar Pradesh and those of Uttarakhand state identified and agreed on the traffic map for Kanwar Yatra. The detailed plan is to be ratified during the joint conference of officials from four states on July 6.

21st July: However, to enable free movement of the pilgrims, heavy vehicles will not be allowed on the highway and all Kanwar routes from midnight on.

25th July: At night, there will be changes in the traffic circulation of Kanwar routes, which will make them one-way.

27th July: The night ban will also list light vehicles from Haridwar on the National Highway 58. The NH 58 Kanwar Patari Marg Delhi Meerut Expressway shall only be open to Kanwarries.

The traffic plan is expected to receive the final seal during a joint meeting on July 6 with representatives from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and two more states.
