In Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh, schools will remain closed from Saturday to Monday due to the KanwarYatra. This holiday extension applies to students from classes 1 to 8. Following the directive of the District Magistrate, District Basic Education Officer Virendra Kumar Singh has instructed that all schools under the Basic Education Department be closed.
This includes all council-recognized, aided, primary, and upper primary schools. These schools will remain closed on every Saturday and Monday in the month of Shravan.
Similarly, the administration in Varanasi has decided to keep all schools closed on Mondays in the month of Sawan. Instead, schools will be open on Sundays. This measure has been taken due to the heavy crowd in Kashi VishwanathDham temple. Last year, the Varanasi administration also kept schools closed on Mondays for the same reason.
Additional Holidays in July and August
For students, the extended holidays are not just limited to these specific closures. There are several other holidays in July and August that will give them more days off.
- July 27: Fourth Saturday, schools will be closed in many states.
- July 21 and 28: Sundays, schools will be closed.
- August 4, 11, 18, 25: Sundays, schools will be closed.
In addition to the weekends, there are specific holidays in August:
- August 7:HariyaliTeej.
- August 10: Second Saturday.
- August 15:Independence Day.
- August 16: Compensatory holiday (Friday).
- August 19: Rakshabandhan (Monday).
- August 26:Janmashtami (Monday).
These holidays provide students with multiple breaks and ensure they have ample time to relax and celebrate various festivals. The decision to close schools on specific days due to local festivals and heavy crowding is a proactive measure to ensure the safety and convenience of students and the general public.
Overall, students in Badaun and Varanasi have a substantial number of holidays to look forward to, allowing them to enjoy a break from their regular school routine.
