Transfer News: The Telangana government withdraws the ban on transfers among its employees.

The Telangana government has presented some cheerful news for its employees and officials by withdrawing the constraints on general transfers. This decision enables counseling for transfer for the period July 5 to July 20 in a transparent manner.

Following this, another transfer restriction will come into effect on July 21, lasting indefinitely. The Finance Department has sent out circulars for this purpose after color was previously banned for six years in the state.

Transfer Process Details

Online counseling, or through applications via the Web, will be provided from July 5 to July 20 for the interested employees. They are also allowed to choose their preferred area of transfer and forward their preferences to the department heads. This is expected to cover nearly 300,000 employees in different divisions and sections and 150,000 teachers in government schools.

Benefits and eligibility criteria

Those who have been serving a company’s location for four years before June 30, 2025, will have the right to transfer. Moreover, people with a certified disability of 70% or more will also be given priority.

Employees with illnesses are also included in this top priority list, as are the spouses of the employees, those who are set to retire within the year, the physically challenged, and children with mental illness.

Transfer Timeline and Process

From July 9 to 12, all the employees of the company are to complete the transfer preferences. The applications submitted between July 13 and July 18 shall be reviewed, and the transfer orders shall be issued on July 19 and 20. Effective on and from July 21, 2016, the movement of general transfers will also be prohibited.
