Vande Bharat India’s First Semi-High-Speed Metro, Successful Trial Run

Good News for Indian Railways

The Indian Railways have once again upped the bar for travels with the demonstrated successful trial run of the Vande Bharat Metro train. This new addition is bound to transform short distance transport in the country.

Successful Trial Run

Recently, Vande Bharat Metro has successfully accomplished its safety trial run, which is quite exciting for Indian Railways. A trial was carried out between Chennai and Katpadi Junction with the permission of the DCR and the receiver of the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety. This is a semi-high-speed train that is expected to provide quite comfortable means of transport to passengers.

Service features of Vande Bharat Metro

The Vande Bharat Metro is for relatively short-distance travel with a maximum operational speed of 5 tiers km/h. Every single coach comprises air conditioning, the same as in the currently operating Vande Bharat trains. Thus, while it may be compared to some of the long-distance variants, the Metro version will not include, for instance, a pantry service, as this car is intended to be comfortable and functional specifically for daily use.

Expected Launch Date

The operational trial run of Vande Bharat Metro is likely to be inaugurated soon, probably on the Independence Day i. e. on August 15th. It will be of vastly beneficial to people travelling across suburbs of cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata.

As such, it could be said that the launch of the Vande Bharat Metro is a big step forward in improving the prospects of public transport and offering better opportunities for passenger mobility for the people of India.
